There’s some exciting racing to look forward to this weekend and Friday’s Windsor fixture is offering up a significant amount of prize money. That has attracted the interest of Scotland-based trainers Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore, who are set to send one runner down to the Berkshire track.
It’s an 858-mile round trip to Windsor and back and connections won’t want to come home empty-handed. The horse in question is potentially progressive, so a big run could well be on the cards. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
King Of Answers was an impressive winner of a Newcastle maiden hurdle back in February and the third went on to boost the form by winning his next start. Pulling up in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Aintree a couple of starts later, he was beaten pretty far out that day and perhaps something was amiss.
He then ran in a handicap over a marathon trip at Perth and managed to get back on track, finishing second by less than a length. The winner was in receipt of 16lb from King Of Answers that day, so it was a more than respectable effort under the circumstances.
This son of Malinas then made the switch to fences this season, and the yard’s runners tend to improve plenty when doing so. Returning to winning ways at Kelso last month, he jumped pretty well on the whole and it would be unwise to rule out further progress.
His biggest competition appears to be Gamesters Guy, who came out on top in a match at Doncaster last time, and we probably haven’t seen the best of him over fences yet.
