Romford Coronation Cup Greyhound Tips

Welcome to a new feature for myracing, ante post greyhound previews.  The dogs have quickly become popular and with viewing figures for the Sky meetings at solid levels and tips for each card forthcoming anyway, we thought why not get some ante post tips up for the Sky competitions!!  We have two selections, one a shorter price and one a bit more speculative for those who like a bit of a bigger price!

Romford Coronation Cup Antepost Greyhound Tips

Fivestar Clipper at 5/1

It’s hard to imagine this final being contested without Fivestar Clipper.  Runner up to the now retired Romford superstar, Adageo Bob the last time the Sky cameras were here, he is always hard to catch when poaching a first bend lead.  It takes a special dog to go under 35.20 round this 575m trip and he does it on a regular basis and with no fairytale against him and a lack of wide seeds in the competition he is likely to make the final if nothing else.  He has tasted defeat just once in his last 10 starts over C&D and despite being the favourite, it is no surprise that he is the market leader.  At 5/1 he is a solid place to start given that he will be odds on in the first round and likely to be the same in the semis!

Deanridge Pennys at 16/1

At a bigger price we have another one of Adageo Bob’s vanquished foes from the Essex Vase Final in December, Pennys is the type who keeps on qualifying through competitions, running solid performances round after round and flying under the radar as he isn’t a flashy type.  He has a great chance to pop out on the inside in the first round and that should be enough to see him safely through to the Semi Finals.  He has a 35.47 on his c.v but the suspicion remains that if he were to ever crack out there is a quicker display in the locker that we haven’t yet seen and he can make a second big C&D final in a row and with each way terms paying the first 4 home, he has a cracking chance of making the money.
