Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. In his own words: "I'm often referred to as a walking form book, a trait which comes in handy from time to time. My proudest tipping success to date was landing a whopping 682-1 accumulator at Epsom."
National Hunt fans are always thinking about the Cheltenham Festival and so we provide ante-post selections with our Road to Cheltenham series. This week we turn our attention to the opening race, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and the trophy could be heading to Closutton once again. A Willie Mullins horse that’s available at 16/1 has caught our eye and we’ll assess their chances here. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Kiss Will has an eye-catching pedigree and the chances are that he’ll want a trip in the long term. His dam is a relative of Paul Nicholls’ smart staying chasers My Will and Unioniste, which certainly bodes well for Kiss Will’s future.
Two miles appears to be no issue for now however, as he won his maiden in very good style at Fairyhouse earlier this month. Paul Townend kept things simple, choosing to go from the front, and the result never looked in doubt.
His hurdling was smooth for most of the race and a mistake at the last didn’t cost him much in the end. The ease with which he put 13 lengths between him and the runner-up was very impressive and he’s entitled to come on plenty for that.
It’s unclear whether or not we’ll see him again before the Festival but he’s definitely very interesting, especially at this sort of price.
