There’s no jockey you would rather have riding your horse at Newmarket and he has a solid book of rides on the Rowley Mile, so we’ve picked out his three best chances of landing a winner.
Without Prejudice is unbeaten in two starts so far and the sister to Emily Upjohn has been impressive on both occasions. She has the pedigree and the potential, so the step up in class should be manageable. Three-year-olds receive a 7lb allowance and there should be more to come from her.
Talk Of New York brings a high level of form to the table here and that includes an excellent third behind Bow Echo in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He probably should have won at Glorious Goodwood last time out and he can gain compensation by going one better this time around.
Fortitudine absolutely pulverised his rivals when winning by 21 lengths on debut and won with plenty in hand on his second start too. The evidence suggests that he’s good enough to compete at Listed level and we will learn plenty about the son of Dubawi here.
Charlie Appleby is in unstoppable form at the moment and his only previous runner at Dundalk was a winner. It’s therefore worth noting that he sends Military Order over for the Listed Diamond Stakes. Competitive in group races last term, he won in the same grade on the all-weather at Kempton in April 2025 and the only potential downside is the 315-day absence.
Owen Burrows and Callum Rodriguez have a 75 per cent strike-rate when joining forces at Haydock and they combine with debutant Native German in the 7f novice for colts and geldings. It’s hard to know what to expect from the son of Sea The Moon but he’s definitely worth considering.
