Galileo filly Warm Heart was last seen digging deep to win a French Group 1 and she is certainly all heart as she also won the Yorkshire Oaks by a very narrow margin. Whether the 1m2f around the sharp bends of Santa Anita will be enough of a test for her is the big question mark, but she is a classy lady and is sure to be fighting out the finish.
Moore has picked up the ride on Astronomer for owners Lady Bamford and M. Tabor. Trained by Simon Callaghan in the USA, this lad was second in a Grade 2 around here in September. On bare figures, he needs to improve hand over first to get involved and he is priced accordingly.
Auguste Rodin won both Derbys this summer, and he has a big chance to land the honours in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. He bounced back from a dismal run in July at Ascot to win in style in the Champion Stakes at Leopardstown. He can give Aidan O’Brien his seventh Turf win at the Breeders’ Cup.
Aesop’s Fables ran a career best when beaten just a length in the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp when last seen. The son of No Nay Never has competed in some big sprints, and has always come up short, but has O’Brien finally found the key to him? He is not without a chance here.
