Prolific apprentice Billy Loughnane’s rides form monster 1,733-1 double at Ascot 🎩

Billy Loughnane is making a huge name for himself so far this season. He was prolific throughout the winter and has continued that through the turf season. The youngster finished second on just his second ever ride at Royal Ascot on Tuesday and rode a treble at Newcastle on Wednesday.

Loughnane rides two at Ascot on Friday and we’ve combined them into a monster each-way double. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

5.00 Ascot

Polly Pott (50-1, William Hill) ran up an impressive sequence of four consecutive wins as a juvenile for Harry Dunlop last term. This culminated in success in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster, going off at 40-1. She clearly has the ability to surprise a few on the big day and she shouldn’t be ruled out a huge price here. Despite the fact that she has disappointed in two starts for Ben Pauling this term, the return to handicap company should suit and she could easily outrun her price.

6.10 Ascot

Thunder Moor (33-1, William Hill) was a highly tried as a two-year-old last year. He was an impressive winner of a York novice for Kevin Ryan and wasn’t disgraced in last year’s Norfolk Stakes. This is his first start for the Boughey yard and first run in handicap company. Life should be easier for him with this drop in grade and Loughnane’s 3lb claim will come in very handy. A 280-day absence is a significant one to contend with but the fact that he runs suggests he’s plenty fit enough.
