Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before.
The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running live on ITV Racing on Saturday. The treble returns massive odds. Best of luck if you have a play.
Kapcorse has clearly had his training issues and has been off the track for 294 days, but it would be no surprise if he bounced back. He bolted up in a handicap chase at this meeting last year and is only 6lb higher in the weights now. Also a winner of the race back in 2018, he has been aimed at this.
Walking On Air is younger than Kapcorse but has a similar profile. Nicky Henderson’s horse bolted up in a novice hurdle here over 2m back in January, before being pulled up in a Grade 1 at Aintree. He’s an extremely well bred son of Walk In The Park and could be very nicely treated off a mark of just 132 on handicap bow, and has very low mileage on the clock.
The Tizzards won this race in 2016 with Ultragold and can do so again with Amarillo Sky, who bounced back from a break to win at Cheltenham’s November meeting. He bolted up over course and distance last February and is ground versatile. He is short enough in the betting but deserves to be right at the head of the market.
