Owen’s ITV Outsiders! 28/1, 22/1 and 16/1 Each Way Horse Racing Tips

Racing doesn’t get much better than this weekend. There’s some superb British action on ITV this Saturday, including the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket. Champers Elysees, who won a handicap off 86 four starts ago, bids to follow up her Group 1 Matron Stakes success.

We also have the small matter of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday, where Enable bids to create history by becoming the first horse to win the prestigious contest three times. Our Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe preview is on site now, including a double-digit priced tip!

1.40 Newmarket – George Scott (28/1)

Mighty Gurka is a warm order to win the ITV opener and is a deserving favourite. He has the best form in the race and is the one to beat, but there are some huge prices as a result of his market-share in this thirty-runner field.

It’s wide open beyond the favourite and with four places on offer, there’s value to be had. Running a pair of promising races to date, George Scott hit the line strongly when fourth at Ascot last time. He does have plenty to find, but he’s thoroughly unexposed and he should be suited by a strongly-run contest.

A switch to softer ground could be another catalyst to further progress and Jim Crowley gets the ride. At a huge price, he’s a tempting each-way option.

2.45 Newmarket – Feliciana De Vega (16/1)

Winning three of her five career starts, Feliciana De Vega is on a sharp upward curve that doesn’t seem to have an end. She was last seen back in October 2019, where she posted a career-best effort to win a course Group 3 in impressive fashion.

She does have an absence to overcome, which is a small concern, but she evidently has plenty of class. Completely unexposed after just a handful of starts, all three of her victories have come on softer surfaces. She’ll relish conditions more than the majority of this season and she has the form figures to play a supporting role, at the very least.

Ralph Beckett has his string in electric form and he wouldn’t be sending her here if she wasn’t fit. There’s plenty of hope that Harry Bentley’s mount can be in the shake-up of this Group 1 prize.

3.05 Ascot – Young Fire (22/1)

Winning two starts ago at Haydock on a softer surface, Young Fire was far from disgraced in the Ayr Gold Cup on his latest outing. His mark has been left unchanged and although inconsistent, his profile has been steadily progressive in handicaps.

All three of his turf victories have come on deeper going, making a winning debut on “Very Soft” in France. He then gained his maiden British success on “Soft” at Haydock before a second success at the venue last month with the same description. Thriving when then going gets tough, he’ll get his ideal scenario today.

He does need a bit extra in a competitive Class 2 event, but he has everything in his favour and has to be afforded a plenty of each-way respect.
