Outsiders Who Could Make You Rich at Glorious Goodwood on Saturday 2018

Goodwood Racecourse

Well, what a week it has been so far, some top-class action on show with Stradivarius, Lightning Spear and Wild Illusion all picking up Group 1 wins and the likes of Dark Vision, Rumble Inthjungle and Land Force adding further to their blossoming profiles with Group wins themselves. Our Glorious Goodwood Tips are on site now, with competitive handicaps such as the Summer Handicap and Stewards’ Cup in prospect it promises to be a fantastic day of racing. Here at myracing, we have chosen three horses that we believe can out-run their lengthy odds and can help us end this year’s Glorious Goodwood festival on a high.

3.40pm – Haddaf – Best Priced 40/1

A useful juvenile, the James Tate trained Haddaf has shown improved form as a three-year-old winning three of his seven starts this year. This gelding has recorded four of his top five RPR’s at Sandown, a track where the stiff uphill finish finds many a sprinter out. With that stamina looking an asset, it seems strange that this son of Dawn Approach has not been tried over further than the minimum trip this season. Connections now make the decision to step him up to this six furlongs, and with William Buick booked to ride, he looks poised to run a huge race.

4.15pm – Lightning Attack – Best Priced 16/1

Richard Fahey is having a fine year with his juveniles and is supported to continue that run with Lightning Attack. This gelding by Lethal Force was unlucky not to finish closer than fifth on his debut at York in May, denied a clear run and once in the clear had too much work to do. On the back of that performance, the step up to seven furlongs looks sure to suit him today and he should be capable of making his presence felt in this company.

5.25pm Goodwood – Manson – Best Priced 16/1

He may have disappointed over a mile at Sandown last time out, but Manson had posted a fantastic effort when second at the aforementioned Sandown prior to that run. A return to that level of form should see him perform in a much better light here and Gabriele Malune claims a valuable three pounds off his back today. He should appreciate these ground conditions and having run well over one-mile two furlongs in the past, the extra furlong on offer here should suit him.
