One of Britain’s best jockeys travels to Nottingham for sole Thursday ride 🚗 😉

Jim Crowley has an unbelievable record at Nottingham in the last five years. In that time, he has ridden 29 winners from just 83 rides at the track, which is a staggering return of about 35 per cent.

It has to be said that Crowley is up there with the very best of the best in Britain, so it has to be very interesting that he goes to arguably his most successful track to take up just one ride for Charlie Hills.

Of course, he has an obligation to do so as he is Shadwell Estate’s retained rider. Nonetheless, it is his sole ride of the day and he will want to make the journey worthwhile.

2.00 Nottingham

Mutaany is one of just three runners in the field with experience to their name, and that could be very advantageous. The son of Invincible Spirit drifted from 7/2 out to 11/2 right before the off on debut at Haydock over 6f last month.

He chased the leaders throughout and seemingly had every chance approaching the furlong pole, but he weakened inside the final furlong. It was evident that he was in need of the run, and he should strip much fitter now on his second start.

Trainer Charlie Hills is in great form this season, already operating at a healthy 25 per cent which is positive. That has also yielded a profit to level stakes of about £40 so it is proving very profitable to follow him this year.

Crowley should be looking forward to this ride; it’s a pretty weak field and something good might have to come out of the pack if they are to take down this horse who has the experience edge.

Mutaany is a half-brother to Massaat and Eqtidaar so he ought to be above average.
