Olly Murphy is 2/2 in bumpers at Sedgefield and he runs one there on Tuesday 💯

Olly Murphy has an exceptional record with his bumper runners at Sedgefield over the last five seasons. Clearly very selective, he has had just the two but both have come away victorious. This gives him an enviable strike-rate of 100 per cent and certainly makes him a trainer to look out for. Murphy runs one in the concluding bumper at the County Durham track on Tuesday which has to be of interest. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.20 Sedgefield

Diamond Geezer makes his debut here and this son of Ocovango appears to have every chance. Olly Murphy’s last bumper runner scored by a wide margin at Fakenham last week and that bodes well for his charge’s chances. This race looks fairly winnable and it would be no surprise if he was to come out on top here, especially with the excellent Sean Bowen on board.

There’s plenty to like about his pedigree as his dam is half-sister to the yard’s high-class hurdler Brewin’upastorm. That horse was an impressive winner on his bumper debut, offering hope that this gelding can follow suit. A €52,000 purchase, he certainly appears to have been presented with a good opportunity here and connections will undoubtedly be expecting a big run.

Donald McCain’s rules debutant Deep Strato would appear to be the biggest danger, as he was an impressive winner of a point-to-point at Corbridge in April. Chris Grant runs Vanilla Dancer who should improve on her debut effort over course and distance last month. There’s every chance that Diamond Geezer can extend his trainer’s unbeaten record.
