‘Nothing can stop him’ – Loughnane’s best chances at Wolverhampton form Lucky 15 🍀

Billy Loughnane is a force of nature at the moment. The 16-year-old apprentice is firing in winners left, right and centre. He rode a treble here at Wolverhampton on Monday, giving him 10 winners at the track this season. It seems as if nothing can stop him right now. No jockey has ridden more winners at Wolverhampton so far this year, making him the top jockey at the track. We’ve combined his four best chances at the Midlands track on Friday into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

5.15 Wolverhampton

First Charge (9-2, bet365) hasn’t won since November 2021, off a mark of 73. Mark Loughnane’s charge put in a decent effort at Kempton three starts ago when finishing fourth and beaten by just a length-and-a-half. He’s rated 2lb lower now and it’s also worth noting that he won on his last visit to this track. With Billy Loughnane taking 5lb off, you wouldn’t want to rule out a victorious return to form.

5.45 Wolverhampton

Stranger Things (6-1, bet365) wasn’t beaten by a million miles in a Chelmsford handicap when last seen. Yet to win in 13 starts but has come close on a few occasions. Classified Stakes races are probably the lowest quality races around and if the step up to 1m4f suits, he’ll hardly get a better chance to shed his maiden tag.

6.15 Wolverhampton

Sapphire Seas (13-8, bet365) is trained by Charlie Appleby and this could be a fruitful partnership. She had absolutely no idea what she was doing on debut last time. Slowly away and very green, she kept on eye-catchingly towards the finish. That race would have been a huge learning experience for her and she is likely to be much more street-wise this time.

6.45 Wolverhampton

Algheed (9-4, bet365) is adaptable with regards to trip, striking up a hat-trick of wins over 6f and 7f. Carries a 5lb penalty for her latest victory despite being due to go up only 3lb. This is a sign of confidence from connections who are looking to strike while the iron is hot and we can expect another bold bid here.
