Nicky Henderson sends one runner to Chepstow on Friday and he’s 5-1 🤯

Sandown - Nicky Henderson

Nicky Henderson is operating at 21 per cent already this season which is about the norm for him, but he doesn’t frequent Chepstow Racecourse all that often. In the last five years, he has sent 54 runners to the track and that has resulted in 10 winners, a 19 per cent return.

It has to be interesting that Henderson sends just one horse there on Friday and he is a juicy price. Make sure that you check out our free horse racing tips and we will be covering the Dublin Racing Festival all weekend too.

3.00 Chepstow

Running in this Class 3 handicap chase with only six runners going to post, Surrey Quest looks far too big a price at first glance with only five rivals to beat. He bolted up twice over hurdles last season, but was was subsequently found to be coughing when pulled up in a Grade 2 at Warwick subsequently.

That must have derailed the horse because he has been out of form since but he shaped with plenty of encouragement in two starts over fences and the handicapper continues to release his grip so he can now run off a lowly mark of just 126. Considering he ran to a Racing Post Rating high of 132 over hurdles, he really does look really well treated if he can put it all together.

Surrey Quest seems to relish the mud so any drying ground could possibly be a negative but all being told, it will be a surprise to many if the 5s holds up; he should be a good deal shorter given the yard and his handicap mark. Best of luck if you play.
