Navan Gamble: Curling horse backed from 20-1 into 5-1 in the Listed Handicap

Navan Racecourse

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 1.42pm at Navan Racecourse today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

1.42 Navan

The Listed Bective Stud, Tea Rooms & Apartments Handicap Hurdle over the extended three miles is a quality race with a pot of €100,000 up for grabs and it has to be significant that Sam Curling’s Angels Dawn has been backed from 20s into 5s overnight which is a pretty substantial gamble for a competitive race of this nature.

The Yeats mare finished second to Stuzzikini at Clonmel on reappearance, and although she was beaten 31 lengths by the winner, she was in need of the run and should come on bundles for it. Curling sent two horses over to Ludlow last month and both won so the trainer knows how to set a horse up to win, that’s for sure!

Angels Dawn won the Kim Muir over fences at Cheltenham back in March so the trip certainly won’t be an issue and she has a 13lb lower mark back over hurdles so is potentially thrown in if she can replicate that form over small obstacles. There are plenty of dangers in this wide open race but she runs off bottom weight and has clearly been laid out for this contest.
