Haizoom (5-1, William Hill) could do with some help from the handicapper here. She has been relatively consistent off this mark and is yet to get her head in front. On a more positive note, her last win came off a mark just 3lb lower and she has finished in the first three in all three starts here. This includes a win over two miles back in September. It’s also promising that this is her first start over 1m6f this season as her form figures are read 1-2 in two runs at the trip.
3.40 Musselburgh
Gometra Ginty (6-1, William Hill) is part of the furniture here at Musselburgh. Keith Dagleish’s mare has had 18 starts at the track and five of her nine career victories have come here. Her last win came here over a mile in September off a 4lb higher mark but she scored over course and distance last September off a 1lb lower mark as well. A big run is expected at her home away from home.
4.40 Musselburgh
It has been almost a year since we’ve seen Smart Lass (9-2, William Hill) on the flat and her last run over jumps was 181 days ago. Fitness may be a concern here but her course record isn’t. In seven flat starts here, she has won five times and finished second once. That’s a phenomenal course record which can’t be ignored and she has to be under serious consideration.
