The big gamble of the day runs in the second race on the evening card, the Watch Free Race Replays On attheraces.com Novice Stakes, a Class 5 maiden. It is a low grade affair that won’t take much winning so the heavy support for Mark Todd’s Seixas cannot be taken lightly.
Seixas was as big as 66-1 last night but at the time of writing this article is now as short as 7-2 in places. Some firms are still offering 5-1 but that might not last. There is every chance that you may get a bigger price much closer to the off as these gambles tend to drift back out pre-race.
The Footstepsinthesand filly was very slowly away on debut at Chelmsford in November 2020 and never got involved over 6f. She has had a lengthy absence but someone out there is expecting a huge run.
She has been gifted the dream draw in stall one providing she can get out much sharper this time around. In-form rider David Probert will take the ride and she has to be respected given the weight of money on her.
