Market mover: Debutante backed into 5/2 from 20/1 at Beverley on Wednesday

It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on the betting markets and we always keep you informed with our market movers. Sometimes there’s a market mover that requires special attention however and that’s the case on Wednesday. One runner at Beverley was as big as 20/1 on Tuesday evening but sustained market support has seen its price capitulate.

At time of writing, the biggest available price is 5/2 and the horse is now joint market leader. We’ve had a detailed look at the runner’s profile and it’ll be interesting to see how this develops. Check out out free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.10 Beverley

Cartwheel (5/2, William Hill) makes her debut for the Dylan Cunha yard and three of her half-siblings have managed to win races. Making her debut over the minimum trip here, the daughter of Lightning Spear is clearly expected to be a bit quicker than her relatives.

Cunha is operating at a strike-rate of 16 per cent with his juveniles this term, with three winners from his 19 runners. It’s worth noting that a couple of non-runners would have affected the price slightly but the market support came before and after those absentees were declared.

Non-runner On Key would have been one of the favourites for this race but now American Style looks like the one to beat. Kevin Ryan’s runner has finished second three times and was a head away from winning at Leicester in June.

You would imagine that this level of market confidence is no coincidence so it would appear that there are many that are expecting a big run. Being related to several winners, it’s certainly not out of the question and we’ll learn plenty about her as the race develops.
