Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at Kempton Racecourse on Wednesday. The treble returns great odds of 80-1 at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Sporting the powerful colours of Godolphin, Dubai Welcome should be good enough to win this race for trainer Saeed bin Suroor. He bolted up in a handicap here in late 2020 and although he clearly had his issues since then, he came back from a lengthy absence to finish second over course and distance 28 days ago. More to come.
The draw in 11 is far from ideal but the way Billy Mill won over track and trip 21 days ago was seriously impressive, eased down close home. The handicapper has been extremely lenient on this horse, only raising him 3lb in the weights. Although this is a tougher assignment, he looks too well treated to ignore in his current vein of form.
Thaki left it late but landed a bit of a gamble at Newcastle last time out under a fine Ryan Sexton ride. The gelding won a handicap over course and distance off a rating of 60 last October and will find this a lot tougher from 10lb higher, but he ran well here two starts back off 68 and top apprentice Harry Davies takes over in the saddle.
