JP McManus horse with a perfect pedigree makes his hurdles debut at Galway 🤩

JP McManus and Willie Mullins is always a deadly combination. This makes it very interesting that they join forces once again with one fascinating runner at Galway on Monday. The horse in question is perfectly bred and his pedigree suggests he’s born to be a champion. He is the first foal of Champion Hurdle-winner Annie Power and is by arguably the greatest sire of all-time, Galileo.

Mullins’ charge is set to make his hurdles debut at Galway on Monday and there will be plenty of eyes on him. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

5.10 Galway

Mystical Power (1-1, Paddy Power) is set to make his hurdles debut in the opening race of the Galway Festival on Monday. We have seen him on the track once already and he made a winning start to his career at Ballinrobe back in May. That debut victory came in a bumper and the third has since boosted the form, finishing second by a narrow margin at Cork last time.

He begins his hurdles career over an extended two miles here and it seems like a sensible starting point. Although it’s likely that he’ll want further in time, he should possess the requisite speed to win over this trip at this stage of his career. Annie Power was probably better suited to 2m4f, despite winning the Champion Hurdle and her first son should follow suit.

It’s highly likely that Cheltenham is the plan for this regally bred gelding and he’ll be expected to get off the mark at the first time of asking over timber. Anything over than an impressive victory would probably be disappointing but there will be plenty of interested parties keeping a close eye on his career.
