JP McManus has just purchased this Cheltenham favourite a week from the festival 😱

JP McManus is no stranger to buying good horses right before big races or festivals and he has done so again! The Irishman pumps enormous money into the horse racing industry every year and he really is a treasure to our sport. The employment that he creates directly and indirectly in Britain and Ireland is sensational.

Below, we will take a look at the horse in question more closely, but on paper this horse has a massive chance at the Cheltenham Festival, which is only 10 days away. Check out our free horse racing tips on the website.

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

McManus has just purchased Corbetts Cross, the exciting staying hurdler. Frank Berry confirmed this morning that JP McManus has bought the exciting young novice hurdler from Paul Byrne. He stays in training with Emmet Mullins and there has been no decision made yet as to whether he will run at Cheltenham. However, he is the current favourite for the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle and it will be a surprise if the 7-2 holds up after this announcement.

Corbetts Cross won a Cork bumper in October and has since won three times over hurdles, including landing the two-mile Grade 2 hurdle at Naas last month. He only beat Found A Fifty narrowly on the day but he really showed his class over an inadequate trip as a speed test is not what he wants. He will improve massively for the step up in trip again and he could be absolutely anything. The Albert Bartlett is shaping up to be one of the races of the festival now.
