Jockey with 60 per cent strike-rate at Fontwell this year booked for one ride

Fontwell Racecourse

Tom Bellamy may not be the most high-profile name around the weighing room. However, he is punching well above his weight at Fontwell this year with three winners from five rides in 2021.

That is a very impressive 60 per cent return thus far and it has to be interesting that he travels there for a sole ride on Wednesday. One would think that the horse in question has to be pretty well fancied.

Getting back to Fontwell, let us take a look at the horse in question more closely.

2.45 Fontwell

Josie Abbing had plenty in hand when scoring over course and distance last time out and she remains with plenty of scope to improve further. Judged on her old form, she still looks very well treated and Bellamy maintains the partnership.

She was once rated 110 so her current mark of just 91 still looks extremely lenient. The ground will be good again so conditions will also still be in her favour so everything looks set for a follow up for connections.

Her chief danger could turn out to be the Suzi Best runner Corrie Lake. Interestingly, they have booked Daryl Jacob to ride so one would think that they expect a good run from their horse.

The other that could run well is Gay Kelleway’s Bolt N Brown, who has been dropped 4lb for a decent effort in 4th at this track when last seen.
