ITV Saturday Outsiders: Paul Nicholls pair look far too big a price to ignore

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing Outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

2.25 Ascot

It wouldn’t be a proper December Saturday without a few winners for Paul Nicholls and the master of Ditcheat has a live chance in the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle with RED RISK, who could be a better horse than we think. This doesn’t look like the strongest renewal of the race and this gelding ran a career best when second in the Grade 2 bet365 Hurdle at Wetherby behind Botox Has last month. There could be more to come.

3.00 Ascot

Another Paul Nicholls runner could be overpriced in the form of SWITCH HITTER, who rounded off last season with a good win at Wincanton. He came back from a 279 day break to finish third over course and distance last month which was seemingly a prep for this. Now fully tuned up, he can go close from a 2lb lower mark.

3.35 Ascot

SALSADA could be thrown in off a mark of 126 for trainer Brian Ellison and could be completely underestimated in the betting. She has to prove her fitness after a break, but she has some very nice form in the book, including when second to the top class Epatante in a Grade 2 at Doncaster in January. Having to run from out of the weights in the Scottish Champion Hurdle when last seen, she ran well enough and is now 4lb lower in the weights.
