There’s a bumper day of racing on Saturday with 10 races live on ITV across three meetings; Wincanton, Aintree and Newcastle. This gives us plenty of exciting action to look forward to and numerous each-way opportunities. With this in mind, we’ve selected three outsiders that are capable of outrunning their huge odds on Saturday. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Zarabanda (25-1, Paddy Power) has been hugely progressive of late, winning three of her last four starts. David O’Meara’s charge won very comfortably at Hamilton last time out and has since been pushed up to a mark of 92. She’s far from fully exposed and further improvement could be on the cards. The filly has earned a crack at this Listed prize and she could surprise a few.
Forward Plan (16-1, bet365) was progressive over fences last season, albeit in a lower grade. He was second to an impressive winner in a decent novice handicap at Ayr when last seen and appears off the same mark here. Anthony Honeyball’s gelding has failed to finish outside of the first three in all five starts over fences and there’s a good chance he can maintain that record.
Euchen Glen (25-1, Boylesports) hasn’t won since July 2021 but he’s ran some cracking races in defeat. He was beaten by just a head when second in Ayr back in September and runs off a 1lb higher mark here. His fourth in the Ebor at York in August was also a fine effort and he should be in the mix once again. A popular veteran, he could have one more win up his sleeve.
