Glorious Goodwood kicks off on Tuesday and ITV will be showing four races live. There are plenty of runners and therefore lots of each-way opportunities on offer. We’ve selected three outsiders at substantial prices that could outrun their odds. Our outsiders column provided a 25-1 in the shape of Soul Seeker on Saturday and we’ll be looking for more big-priced success here. Soto Sizzler (16-1, bet365) would appreciate it if the grounds dries up a bit before the off here. He won off this mark at Epsom last April and should therefore be very competitive. Gary Moore’s charge was beaten by just under eight lengths in this race last year, off a 7lb higher mark. Ryan Moore is on board and he has an excellent record of two wins and a second in four rides on him. This horse is a previous winner at Glorious Goodwood, having won a valuable handicap back in 2018 and shouldn’t be underestimated.
Indestructible (16-1, bet365) has gone under the radar since winning the Craven Stakes at Newmarket back in April. He beat the subsequent Dante winner that day and put in a fair effort behind Paddington in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. The drop in grade here may well provide a good opportunity to return to the winners’ enclosure and he should be in the mix at the very least.
Lone Eagle (20-1, Paddy Power) ran a pretty fair race in the Gold Cup last time out when you consider how keen he was. Ralph Beckett’s five-year-old didn’t quite get home as a consequence and faded in the final furlong. The form of his defeat of Hamish at Chester looks good and he’s definitely worth giving another go. The two-mile trip here looks likely to suit and he clearly has the ability to run a big race.
