ITV Outsiders: 66/1, 50/1 and 18/1 tips for Day 1 of Doncaster’s St Leger Festival

Miss Nightfall (50/1, bet365) is progressing with every start and she got off the mark in good style at Windsor when last seen. That form has received a significant boost since as the third third went on to win its next start by 13 lengths. Her profile suggests she’s likely to improve again and obviously James Fanshawe’s filly will need to but it could prove dangerous to overlook her.

Serving With Style (66/1, bet365) has done nothing wrong in two starts thus far, which makes this price a bit of a mystery. Unbeaten in two starts, Karl Burke’s filly showed a good attitude to win under a penalty at Goodwood last time and has earned a step up in class. Burke is a shrewd trainer of juveniles and it would be no surprise if this filly goes on to make the frame.

Grey Cuban (18/1, William Hill) has won two of his last three starts and that includes a dominant success at Chester in July. Hugo Palmer’s gelding made all the running that day and powered clear to score by just shy of five lengths. He ran out of steam over 1m4f at York last time out and the return to 1m2f should facilitate a much better effort.
