ITV Outsiders: 33-1 shot at Goodwood could light the way on Wednesday 💡

Wednesday marks day two of Glorious Goodwood and the ITV cameras will be back at the downs with six races televised live. We’re all set for another competitive and compelling day of action. We’ve picked out three more outsiders whose chances are bigger than their odds suggest. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Goodwood

Luminous Light (33-1, bet365) is an interesting contender for the opening race of the day. Currently the outsider of the field, he won here on debut over a mile last season. Charlie and Mark Johnston’s gelding ran well when third at Ripon last time despite being cut up by the winner. He couldn’t recover from that but with a bit more luck here, we could see a different result. Luminous Light tries 1m4f for the first time here which should suit as he was keeping on over 1m2f last time.

2.25 Goodwood

It seems like the only reason that Allayaali (18-1, Paddy Power) is such a big price is that we haven’t seen her for 292 days. On the form of her one-length second in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket last year, she should be near the top of the list. Allayaali is an unexposed filly with a high chance of progressing at three. As long as she’s straight enough for this, we could see a much better performance than the market is expecting.

4.10 Goodwood

Scorpio (20-1, Paddy Power) has been thrown in the deep end here on handicap debut. Brian Meehan’s filly has had just three starts maiden and novice company so comes into this as an unknown quantity. This opening mark of 74 seems fair and she should progress in handicaps. The fact that she’s running here is a huge vote of confidence and she gets plenty of weight from her rivals. Fascinating contender.
