ITV Outsiders: 25-1 Coral Gold Cup hope can go all the way on Saturday ⭐

The cold weather is wreaking havoc with the racing this week but there’s every reason to be hopeful that Newbury will go ahead on Saturday. Many will be hoping it does because the Coral Gold Cup is a major event in the season. We’ve selected three outsiders running at Newbury to consider, which will be live on ITV. 1.40 Newbury

Rock My Way (14-1, bet365) won a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Cheltenham last term and clearly has plenty of ability on his day. It was an improved effort over 2m5f at Cheltenham last time out and he should be competitive off the same mark once again. Freddie Gingell is a very useful conditional and his 5lb allowance will certainly come in handy.

2.15 Newbury

Our Champ (16-1, bet365) has been progressive since switching to Chris Gordon’s yard. He was a convincing winner in his first two starts for the new yard and was particularly impressive at Cheltenham in October. All of his best efforts have come on left-handed tracks so you can forgive a below-par run at Ascot last time out. There could be more to come from this horse.

2.50 Newbury

Eldorado Allen (25-1, William Hill) is a very capable horse who has slipped to an attractive mark of 154. Joe Tizzard’s charge beat Royale Pagaille in the Grade 2 Denman Chase back in February 2022 and that’s one of the best pieces of form on offer here. He ran a nice race when third at Ascot on seasonal debut and should improve for the run. A big run could well be on the cards here and his price is hard to ignore.
