There’s some awesome racing to look forward to on Saturday. The ITV cameras will be bringing us nine of the best races across three meetings from Haydock, Ascot and Punchestown. With lots of competitive handicap action on offer, this provides plenty of each-way opportunities. We’ve selected three outsiders at substantial prices which could outrun their odds. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Lunar Power was a smart handicapper for Noel Meade and he was victorious on his final hurdles start for that yard at Ballinrobe in May. He makes his debut for Donald McCain here and his jockey takes 3lb off. That could be important as a mark of 139 isn’t particularly generous. Still only a five-year-old, the best could be yet to come.
Howlingmadmurdock is unexposed over hurdles and he won on his handicap debut at Sandown back in March. Three subsequent winners have come out of that race and he backed it up with a really solid fifth in Grade 1 company at Aintree. Tom Lacey has a 45 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight and this lad could run a huge race.
Funambule Sivola also hails from an in-form yard and on his best form, is levels above these. Venetia Williams’ gelding was an easy winner of the Grade 2 Game Spirit Chase in February and was runner-up in the 2022 Champion Chase. He should be more than capable of winning off this mark and Ned Fox’s 5lb claim will also come in handy. You can forgive his disappointing seasonal reappearance and he should be much sharper this time around.
