ITV Outsiders: 20-1 shot to throw a spanner in the works at Cheltenham on Friday 🔧

Cheltenham‘s three-day November meeting is always packed with quality and it kicks off on Friday. ITV are televising four races and we’ve selected three outsiders who can outrun their prices. Despite there not being an abundance of runners in these races, there are enough to have an each way play. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing. 1.45 Cheltenham

Hasankey (12-1, bet365) was a massive improver last season. Having started off at Hexham this time last year on a mark of 117, he has shot up the weights to 138. His 18-length sixth in the Grand Annual at the Festival here was no disgrace given the circumstances. Laura Morgan’s gelding ran a nice race at Ayr on seasonal reappearance and can do even better here with a fitness advantage.

2.20 Cheltenham

Stimulating Song (12-1, bet365) missed the best part of two years after winning at this meeting over hurdles in 2020. That was a cosy enough win by two-and-three-quarter lengths, going away. Forgiving his comeback effort at Uttoxeter last month is very easy as he would have needed the run badly on chase debut. Currently rated 128 over fences, his hurdles win here came off the same mark. Milton Harris’ gelding has to be dangerous on this evidence.

2.55 Cheltenham

Saint Xavier (20-1, bet365) bumped into a well-treated rival when a nine-length second in a veterans’ race at Newbury over 3m2f when last running in Britain. That effort came off a mark of 127 and he’s now rated 4lb lower. This is a nice mark and he should be able to make his presence felt. On some of his best form, he doesn’t look like the outsider of this field. We could see a smart performance here.
