The ITV cameras are at Ascot and York on Saturday for an excellent day’s racing and they will be showing seven races. There’s Group 1 action and some competitive handicaps to sink your teeth into. With this in mind, we’ve selected four outsiders at substantial prices which could outrun their odds. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Soul Seeker (20-1, Betfair) finished third at Ayr last time out and the handicapper has since dropped him a further 2lb. This should be a very competitive mark, as it’s 5lb lower than his last winning one. A return to the winners’ enclosure is long overdue and it should come sooner rather than later.
Abduction (25-1, bet365) has perhaps been struggling with his mark in recent starts but the handicapper is beginning to relent. After a very below-par effort at Ayr last time out, he now finds himself on a mark of 83. This is just 3lb higher than his last winning mark and 4lb lower than when beaten by less than a length over this trip in May.
Lir Speciale (40-1, bet365) was progressive and consistent last year, winning two handicaps on the all-weather. He began this season in the same way, winning at Kempton and probably ran better than his finishing position suggests in a Royal Ascot handicap last time. This race looks easier and a big run could be on the cards.
Luxembourg (16-1, bet365) is a top-class performer in his own right and appears to be the forgotten horse in Saturday’s King George. The return to 1m4f could actually suit as he seemed to be outsprinted when second in the Prince Of Wales last time out. Don’t underestimate him as he’s a very talented animal.
