ITV horses for courses: Three previous Doncaster winners to follow on Friday

Doncaster‘s St Leger Festival continues on Friday and there’s a hugely competitive eight-race card to look forward to. The first five races will be live on ITV, as will one race from Salisbury. One important factor to consider when trying to pick a winner is previous course form, as it can be a big advantage. We’ve got you covered and have picked out three horses running at the track on Friday who have won there in the past. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 Doncaster

God Of War faces a stiff step up in class here but he has shown ability in two starts to date. It was a more than reasonable effort when fourth on debut at Yarmouth over 6f and he took a big step forward to get off the mark nicely over course and distance next time. The form of that race suggests he has a bit to find but it’s not out of the question.

3.35 Doncaster

Trueshan is a stalwart of the staying scene and his two Doncaster runs have come in this race. The first was a narrow defeat at the hands of Coltrane but he managed to go one better last year. One would imagine that he will run his race once again and it would be unwise to rule him out.

4.10 Doncaster

Cabrera has been very consistent so far and her record speaks for itself. She was an easy winner of a course and distance novice on her penultimate start and that experience will stand her in good stead. Well clear of the third when second in a 1m6f handicap at Newmarket recently, perhaps the return to 1m4f will be of assistance.
