ITV horses for courses: four track specialists to shake things up on Saturday 🏇

Warwick Racecourse

The ITV cameras are at Newbury, Warwick and Lingfield on Saturday so we’ve selected four tips for you to consider. Certain horses act at certain tracks and with this in mind, we’ve found four track specialists with proven records. These include three horses with 100 per cent records who won’t lose their streaks without a fight. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.15 Newbury

Gallic Geordie (5-1, bet365) won this very race last year off a 9lb lower mark and was going ok last time out when slipping and falling two out. That effort suggests he’s in good form as he was in the process of running a huge race. Last year’s win was his only start here at Newbury which gives him a 100 per cent record. Trainer Samuel Drinkwater has a 40 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight with two winners from five runners. This bodes well for a big run here.

1.50 Newbury

Black Poppy (10-1, bet365) is an admirably consistent horse who has hardly run a bad race. Kerry Lee’s charge ran twice here last spring, winning the first start and being narrowly denied by a subsequent winner on the second. You can be sure he’ll run his race again and it would be no surprise to see him get his head in front again.

2.10 Warwick

Smuggler’s Blues (5-1, bet365) won his sole start at Warwick in January. That victory came off a 4lb lower mark. Seemed to be running a big race when falling at Wincanton last time which signified a return to form. Should be capable of putting in a big performance.

2.40 Warwick

Jilly Cooper (6-1, bet365) hast been a little inconsistent lately and could do with some help from the handicapper. Despite this, she has to be of interest when you take into consideration her unbeaten record here at Lingfield. She won her sole start easily back in August by a wide margin. You can never discount a Charlie and Mark Johnston horse and this one is no exception.
