It’s Ebor day at York on Saturday and there’s a solid supporting card at Goodwood to look forward to. ITV will be showing five races from York and two from Goodwood. We’ve picked out four runners from across both tracks with proven records and combined them into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Spirit Dancer (11-1, bet365) is a two-time winner here at York and he has also finished in the places twice. Richard Fahey’s charge comes here in the form of his life, having won his last two and putting in a career-best performance at Windsor last time out. This is a notable step up in grade but his course record should serve him well and he could run another personal best.
Epictetus (3-1, William Hill) was a good winner over course and distance last time out and he disposed of a promising sort. It’s unlikely to take more than a repeat of that performance to take the victory here, despite the fact that he goes back up to Group 2 level.
Kinross (7-4, William Hill) is a 7f specialist who seems to peak in the latter part of the season. He won his only start here at York, which came in this race last year. Ralph Beckett’s gelding returned to winning ways at Goodwood last time out and he appears to be the best horse in the race once again.
Gale Force Maya (12-1, William Hill) tends to save her best for York and hasn’t been out of the first three in six starts on the Knavesmire, winning three times. Her last handicap win came over course and distance on a 2lb higher mark and she’s very hard to overlook on that evidence.
