‘It’s likely this has been the target’ – Monster 500/1 horses for courses Saturday treble

Knight To Behold beats Kew Gardens in the Lingfield Derby Trial

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday.

We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot several weeks ago and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.

1.35 Haydock

Givemefive has the burden of top weight to carry in the 2m Swinton Handicap Hurdle but Harry Derham’s five-year-old has a good course record and could be up to the job. Runner-up on the Flat around here last September, he won a Newcastle handicap off 128 in March and followed up when beating a well-backed Dan Skelton runner over course and distance off a mark of 132 last time, conceding lumps of weight to that horse.

2.05 Ascot

Bellarchi won this corresponding mile handicap last year off a mark of 87 and although Grant Tuer’s filly has only won once since, she is now running off a turf mark of 80 so is 7lb lower in the weights. It’s likely that this has been the target for some time.

3.35 Lingfield

Great Generation won this Group 3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes last year and will give it a good shot again. She has a much tougher task at the weights this time around but goes well on a sound surface and should give the favourite most to do.
