‘It’s going to be gruelling’ – Three heavy ground specialists at Ffos Las on Tuesday

The unprecedented amount of rain we’ve had since the turn of the year continues to cause havoc. Meetings have been cancelled whilst others are forced to inspect. Conditions at Ffos Las on Tuesday are set to be absolutely gruelling which means you need a certain type of horse. 2.30 Ffos Las

Followango has made a promising start to her career and absolutely bolted up when winning a bumper here on heavy ground back in November. She has made the frame in all four of her hurdles starts to date and came closer than ever to getting off the mark when beaten by a nose at Lingfield in February. This is a pretty weak event and it’ll be disappointing if she doesn’t win comfortably.

3.40 Ffos Las

The Lion Dancer has been badly out of form in three starts this season but his impressive record on heavy ground stands out. A four-time winner in six starts on heavy, there’s no ground that’s too deep for this horse and he should thrive. His last win came off a mark of 97 and he has to have a chance here off a 5lb lower mark.

4.50 Ffos Las

In Rem has had three starts on heavy ground, winning twice. The one defeat came over fences and he’s a much better horse over timber. There were signs of a return to form having gone back over hurdles at Exeter last time out and he can improve on that, now on a 1lb lower mark.
