Irish trainer with 50 per cent record at Bangor sends one runner on Friday 🔥

Cian Michael Collins has had just two runners at Bangor so far and one of those has won, giving him a 50 per cent strike-rate at the track. Clearly selective with his runners here, it could be significant that he sends just one runner to Bangor on Friday. Another winner here would boost that record to 67 per cent and the runner in question has an excellent chance. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Bangor

Effernock Fizz is a thoroughly likable mare who has already tasted success in Wales this season. She showed a brilliant attitude to win the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las in October. Hardy Du Seuil was a tailed off last that day and has since boosted the form by winning a competitive handicap at Sandown when last seen. That win was followed by a valiant second over fences at Cheltenham, when only beaten by half-a-length.

Collins’ mare put in a solid performance behind Gaelic Warrior in a valuable race at Leopardstown last weekend. She was only eight lengths behind the impressive winner that day. Returning to the larger obstacles here, she also goes back up in trip to an extended 2m4f. Her British rating of 140 isn’t particularly generous but she has the quality to win here.

Miah Grace is the main danger but her rival’s form is perhaps not on the same level. Despite still being a maiden over fences, Effernock Fizz has placed in six of her eight chase starts. It seems to only be a matter of time before she gets her head in front and this is an excellent opportunity.
