Grand National-winning trainer Emmet Mullins is venturing across to Britain again on Saturday with three major contenders at Kelso Racecourse, which will be free to air on ITV Racing. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips which are up on the website now. We also have ante-post tips up for the Cheltenham Festival which is just over a week away!
Mullins has three outstanding chances at the Scottish track and we have put them into a treble, which can be backed using the betting slips provided on the page. Best of luck if you have a play.
Mullins won this race two years ago with The Shunter and McTigue has the profile of a horse who could be very nicely treated. He was a decent horse on the Flat for Jim Bolger, but won on hurdling bow at Sedgefield last September before following up in a French Grade 2 in Auteuil. McTigue was beaten out of sight in two subsequent starts in good company but has to be of interest on handicap hurdle debut.
The second of the Mullins runners is Feronily who takes his chance in the Grade 2 novice hurdle over 2m2f. This horse was second in a Leopardstown bumper on rules debut during Christmas, before finishing third behind leading Champion Bumper hope A Dream To Share at the Dublin Racing Festival. This is a big ask on hurdling bow but he must be respected.
The Shunter needs little introduction as he won over hurdles on this card two years ago. Although he is now shoving on in years, he has been found a good opportunity here. Fourth of 20 in a premier handicap on the Flat back in November when last seen, he should be fresh and ready to go after an absence and he has a big chance on these terms.
