In-form local trainer bids for 16-1 accumulator at favourite hunting ground

It’s just a pair of meetings to get stuck into on Monday, with Plumpton and Leicester up on the docket. The former hosts a seven-race card, while the latter has a six-race meeting that is headlined by an exciting novices’ event. Two useful flat performers do battle in what could be a very informative Festival pointer.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, but Gary Moore could be the centre of attention on Monday. The Sussex-based trainer sends three runners to Plumpton and they all look to have very strong chances. Moore has a good record at his local venue and his runners make into an 16-1 accumulator.

Placed in a point at Ballindenisk in May, Next Left cost 8,000 euros as a three-year-old and is brother Ya Boy Ya, who won twice in points and four times under rules. He made his hurdling debut at Lingfield last month, finishing a running-on third after being outpaced.

That was an encouraging performance and he’s entitled to improve exponentially on that, especially now he’s up in trip at a stiffer venue. Better ground is another potential positive and dropped into an easier race than last time, he’s an obvious contender second time out.

He’s just one from 17 over hurdles, but Vision Clear had some very useful form last year and at his peak, he’d knock this field for six under Jamie Moore. He was rated 117 this time last year and if you take that at face value, he’s sixteen pounds clear of this field.

Although he’s not likely to run to that level, he was last seen going close at Fakenham in a Class 4 handicap off a rating of 95. Even that form would make him difficult to beat, especially back at Plumpton, where he’s performed well on multiple occasions.

Going down by a short-head at Fontwell last month over hurdles, Antony remains on a very dangerous rating and his time is surely near. By this point last season, he’d finished second on two occasions over fences, including a length defeat off a rating of 117.

His latest second suggested he had finally turned a corner and the fact he’s back up in trip is another big positive to his chances. The vast majority of his best form has come on a better surface and if does build on that latest second, he’ll be very tough to stop.
