‘If the market speaks in her favour it will be ominous’ – Saturday ITV outsiders

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing Outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

1.30 Ascot

James Owen is a brilliant up and coming dual-purpose trainer, and his runner in the opening 1m4f handicap looks overpriced at first glance and could hit the frame. ENTHUSED won over hurdles five times in 2023, and ran better than the bare result would suggest when a close-up 10th at Newmarket over a mile in April, nearest at the finish. He ran well at Southwell latest and isn’t to be discounted back on turf at a nice price.

2.05 Ascot

William Haggas is usually a good man for a winner on a Saturday and MYSTIC PEARL might have the class edge over her rivals in the following mile handicap on the straight course. The filly won a Listed contest at Sandown over this trip last July, before going down narrowly in a French Group 3. She has been out of form so far this year but drops into a handicap now and if the market speaks in her favour it will be ominous.

2.40 Ascot

KING’S VANITY has a very tough task on his turf debut but the son of Kingman could be up to the challenge. Andrew Balding’s gelding won at Lingfield in January and although he disappointed on handicap debut at Kempton last time, he wasn’t without support in the market. It’s possible he will improve for a switch to turf and he gets weight off the entire field.
