‘I wouldn’t swap him for anything’ – Trainer confident his horse will win today 😮😮

It might not be the most exciting day’s racing that we have ever had but we love when a trainer comes out with a bullish statement and we are glad to say Pat Phelan is the man of the moment on Tuesday. Before we move on, make sure you check out out free horse racing tips for the day’s action. We landed an accumulator at the weekend so we are certainly in form.

3.25 Lingfield

Despite being very weak in the market overnight and again this morning, the Pat Phelan trained Devizes is not to be ruled out in the fascinating 2m handicap, where four of the six runners will take on this marathon trip for the very first time in their career.

Devizes is a four time course winner so certainly knows how to get the job done around here, while the trip is also of no concern as he is proven over two miles also. There is no doubt that he will prove hard to beat if he is on a going day again off the back of his impressive win at Kempton Racecourse last time out.

Pat Phelan, trainer of Devizes, said: “We’re running him at Lingfield in the absence of a suitable race at Kempton. He has won at this track before but the layout at Kempton seems to suit him better. I would not swap him for anything in the race, however, as he’s one of the few to have won at the trip. He’s a big horse so we space his races out rather than backing him up under penalties.”
