Ryan Moore is an impressive jockey who has ridden winners at the highest level, all over the world. One of the best of his generation, he’s well capable of ridding a winner, wherever he is. Moore has an intriguing book of rides at Chester on Thursday and we’ve combined his three best chances into a 167-1 treble. Kings Lynn (6-1, William Hill) won a Group 2 over this trip as recently as last May but has struggled since. With this in mind, the return to handicap company may well suit. You can perhaps forgive his seasonal reappearance effort at Doncaster over 6f last time out. The ground that day was very testing, which may not have suited and it was his seasonal debut. He should be much sharper this time, with the benefit of having that run under his belt.
San Antonio (5-1, William Hill) looked progressive in two starts as a juvenile. Having been disappointing on debut, he improved significantly next time to finish a close third. He took another massive step forward on his first start at three, running out an impressive winner at Dundalk. Aidan O’Brien has won six of the last nine renewals of this race and you wouldn’t want to rule out another here.
Changingoftheguard (3-1, Boylesports) was an awesome winner of the Chester Vase at this meeting last year. It was a slightly disappointing effort from him in the Derby next time but he made amends with victory in the Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot when last seen. There should be plenty more to come from him at four and the extra furlong here looks likely to suit.
