Jamie Moore is a man on fire at the moment. In the last week, he has had 12 rides and five of those have won. This strike-rate of 41 per cent is excellent and makes him one to look out for. The Sussex-based jockey has three rides at Lingfield on Thursday. With the strength of his current form, it might prove sensible to take note. Issar d’Airy didn’t show an awful lot in three starts over hurdles so far. One can only assume that handicapping was always going to be his cup of tea. With that in mind, significant improvement can be expected on handicap debut. Beaten by 41 lengths on seasonal debut at Fontwell last time but may well be fitter this time around. It’s also worth mentioning that he wasn’t given a particularly hard time. The bright side is that he’s been allotted a two-figure handicap mark off which he can progress significantly.
Givega could be promising type for connections. Winner of his sole point for Colin Bowe, the form has worked out fairly well. The third went on to win his next start and the fifth has since won under rules. 550 days is a long lay-off to overcome but if he’s smart, he should be able to do it in this company. His point win came on soft to heavy ground so he should appreciate the conditions at Lingfield.
Walk In The Wild is one from one over fences, having scored on chase debut here over 2m4f last time out. You can see why connections were so keen to send him chasing as he’d shown little in six starts over hurdles. Fences are a different story it seems as he did it in good style, winning by three-and-a-quarter lengths. The handicapper put him up 5lb for that effort but he looks capable of significant progress in this sphere and he’s not one to take on.
