Course form is always an important factor to consider when trying to pick out winners. Horses are individuals and some are therefore likely to perform better at certain tracks than others. This can provide an advantage so we’ve picked out one runner at each of Britain’s four meetings on Monday with proven track records. Carlisle, Lingfield, Windsor and Pontefract provide the day’s action and we’ll also have our daily free tips which aren’t to be missed.
Appier is hard to oppose on Lingfield’s all-weather track, having won three of his four starts on it. The most recent of those came by the narrowest of margins earlier this month and it was a determind effort. A 3lb rise will obviously make life harder here but he’s more in form than most of his rivals and another course and distance success shouldn’t be ruled out.
Hostelry has finished in the first two in four of her six starts at Carlisle and two of her last three visits have resulted in victory. This certainly bodes well for her chances here and she was a fair second at Pontefract last time out. Another big run is expected and Ruth Carr’s mare could add to her tally of successes here.
Charging Thunder is unbeaten in two starts at Pontefract and he was a very easy winner over course and distance off this mark back in June 2022. He has struggled with his mark in the last year or so but the handicapper is beginning to respond and there were some positive signs at Newcastle last time out.
Antiphon has an awesome record at Windsor and has only failed to make the frame once in nine starts. The five-year-old ran a cracker to finish fourth from 9lb out of the handicap in the Dash at Epsom when last seen and this is considerably easier.
