Horses for courses: four Fontwell specialists form tasty Lucky 15 on Monday 🍀

Fontwell isn’t the most conventional of British tracks. It’s figure of eight is quite tight and it wouldn’t be to every horse’s liking. With that in mind, we’ve picked out four horses running at the Sussex track on Monday with proven records. We’ve also combined them into a juicy Lucky 15 for you to consider. 1.55 Fontwell

Unit Sixtyfour (4-5, bet365) has been progressive since switching to fences and hasn’t been out of the first two in four starts over the larger obstacles. Seeking a hat-trick here, having won his last two starts and there’s every chance he can pull it off. The latest of those wins came over course and distance and his 7lb penalty is offset by the jockey’s claim. Ben Pauling’s charge is still improving and there’s more to come.

2.30 Fontwell

Red Windsor (13-8, bet365) is yet finish outside of the places in two starts here at Fontwell, winning once. Chris Gordon’s gelding did well to win going away, despite jumping out to his right. Staying on well that day, the step up to an extended 2m5f should suit nicely. Clearly not the finished article but he’s talented and headed in the right direction.

4.00 Fontwell

Tazka (11-4, bet365) needs to bounce back after a couple of very disappointing efforts recently. She’s difficult to overlook here when you consider her course record however. Gary Moore’s mare has two wins and two seconds to her name in six starts at Fontwell. Her last win came over course and distance in September 2020 off a 7lb higher mark. This is her first attempt at this trip here since and she has to go under close consideration on that evidence.

4.30 Fontwell

Sambezi (11-2, bet365) is defending a 100 per cent record at Fontwell, having won his only start at the track. That was the last time he has tasted victory, back in March 2021. The horse has since put in several respectable placed efforts and is sliding down the weights. Now down to a career-low mark of 104 and the form of his second at Plumpton in May suggests he’s capable of winning a race of this stature.
