MyRacing provides free tips and content daily and amongst that is our Nap of the day. We pick out one horse that we fancy more than any ever and Tuesday’s selection runs at Pontefract. The horse in question has a very good course record and ground conditions should be fine for him. Here we take a close look at his profile and consider who the main dangers could be. Ventura Express (7/1, bet365) runs in Pontefract’s £30,000 feature race of the day, the Class 2 Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap. Paul Midgley’s eight-year-old is an experienced operator and has run here 11 times throughout his career so far.
Winning four times and placing a further three times, he certainly knows his way around here. All of those victories have come over this trip too, which is also a massive positive, and it’s hard to argue with a course record such as that.
He warmed up for this with a very good run at Newcastle 10 days ago, which will put him spot on for this. Midgley’s gelding kept on well to finish second behind the progressive and race fit Paddy’s Day and would be entitled to improve for the run.
Wen Moon is prominent in the betting but the less exposed four-year-old Venture Capital is arguably more dangerous. Fahrenheit Seven was a close third behind him at Newcastle and should be close by once again, especially now down a 1lb lower mark.
Pontefract is Ventura Express’ playground however and he’s expected to confirm the form with that rival and perhaps go one better this time around.
