County Kildare-based handler Ken Condon will send his first ever runner across to Hamilton Racecourse in Scotland on Thursday, and that surely could be a tip in itself as it’s a fairly awkward spot to get to. In total, the return journey is 562 miles and he isn’t going there to make up the numbers! Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips on the website!
Condon’s runner Believe In Glory will take her chance in the 5f fillies’ maiden and if she can run anywhere to the level of her debut fourth at Cork, she will have a big chance here under Daniel Tudhope, who has an 18 per cent return at the track in the last five years.
The filly was very disappointing when last seen over 5f at Cork, but getting back to that debut run over the same course and distance, she was behind a decent winner in Oh Cecelia, while the runner-up Rogue Legend won his next two races before finishing third in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last week.
Believe In Glory was only two lengths or so off the Paddy Twomey runner on that occasion so if you take that form literally, she could be a filly capable of running to a level around the early 90s, which would be more than enough to win this maiden most likely.
The biggest danger to the Irish raider will be Brian Ellison’s Wor Faayth, who rattled home after being slowly away on debut at Carlisle, finishing a very close third. That race also looked like a strong contest.
