Aidan O’Brien has an unbelievable record with his two-year-olds at Naas so far this season. His 71 per cent strike-rate is unreal with five of his seven runners winning and the other two finishing second. There are four juvenile races at Naas on Monday and O’Brien has runners in three of them. With this in mind, it’s going to be hard to ignore them so we’ve combined the runners into a 102-1 treble. Dame Kiri (7-4, Paddy Power) ran nicely on debut at Leopardstown before tiring and losing a place in the final strides. She should be stronger and fitter today and she’ll need to be upped to a mile for the first time. This trip should be fine as her dam placed in a middle-distance Group 3 and her sire is U.S. triple crown-winner Justify. O’Brien’s juveniles often improve significantly from first to second run and there’s every chance she’ll do the same.
Denmark (11-4, Paddy Power) is a beautifully bred son of Camelot. His dam was ultra-consistent in group French group races and was perhaps unfortunate to not win one. He was a costly purchase at €440,000 so connections will be expecting a big run on debut. It may also be significant that Ryan Moore makes the trip over to ride him and his two stablemates.
Victoria Road (9-1, Paddy Power) has a lot to prove having disappointed last time out. This is a well bred colt though who should be winning over this trip. As his sire is a 2000 Guineas winner and his dam won a Group 3 over 5f, one would expect a win isn’t far away. It’s interesting that O’Brien has aimed for this valuable auction race so perhaps he’ll put his best foot forward here.
