‘He’s a man on a mission’ – monster 1,607-1 Brian Hughes acca at Sedgefield 😱

Brian Hughes is a man on a mission and that mission is to ride as many winners as he possibly can. It would be no understatement to say he excels at this task and has ridden 82 winners already this season. With this in mind, we’ve put all his rides at Sedgefield on Tuesday into a monster 1,607-1 accumulator. His strike-rate here is well above average and his mounts shouldn’t be ignored. 1.40 Sedgefield

Onesmoothoperator (1-1, bet365) was a smart performer on the flat with a rating of 95. With some decent form in middle-distance handicaps, 2m1f over hurdles should suit nicely. There’s always an element of the unknown with ex-flat horses making their hurdles debuts but if taking to the obstacles, a winning debut is definitely on the cards.

2.15 Sedgefield

Calliope (9-4, bet365) is obviously in good form having won easily at Perth last time. The handicapper has put her up 7lb for that effort which is reasonable on that evidence. She’s not always the most consistent which is a cause for concern. Despite that, she’s a winner off 10lb higher than her current rating of 90 so this shouldn’t be beyond her.

3.25 Sedgefield

Lucky Robin (5-1, bet365) has a great chance on some of his best form. He’s a two-time chase winner with both of these victories coming in September 2019. They came off marks of 103 and 107 so it’s hard to argue that he’s not well handicapped. His current rating is 94 so another win over fences is long overdue.

4.00 Sedgefield

Thermusa (7-4, bet365) makes her rules debut for Ruth Jefferson having won her sole Irish point by a comfortable margin. On that evidence, she could be a smart prospect and is starting off in what looks like a very winnable race.

4.30 Sedgefield

Kayfast Warrior (11-4, bet365) won at Perth two starts ago by a couple of lengths. Disappointing off 3lb higher when a well-beaten fourth at Market Rasen last time out. The handicapper has responded by dropping him a pound. If you can forgive that effort, he must have a chance now just 2lb higher than when winning at Perth.

5.05 Sedgefield

Creative Control (3-1, bet365) makes his chasing debut here on his first start since January. Won a couple of hurdle races including one here. It’s unlikely that Donald McCain would send him in unprepared so If taking to the larger obstacles, he could progress off this mark of 114.
