“He just wins” – Jamie Codd would love to ride this horse at Cheltenham 🗣️🚀

Top amateur jockey and incredible horseman Jamie Codd is not afraid to voice an opinion, and more times than not he is right. He did a blog piece on Attheraces and has come out to tell us which horse he would love to ride at the Cheltenham Festival, if he could just have one ride all week.  Make sure you write this name down on your notebook as one to keep onside and you can build your free bets pot for Cheltenham on our website and find our free horse racing tips there too.

The Coddmeister has spoken

There is one horse that Codd would love to ride at Cheltenham next month and that horse is the Gordon Elliott trained Gerri Colombe, who will run in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase.

Codd was quoted saying: ‘If I could ride one horse at this year’s Cheltenham Festival it would be Gerri Colombe. He’s not fancy, he’s not flash, but he just wins. He’s a good jumper and won going away at Sandown. He knows how to get the job done and has a fantastic chance in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase.’

He went on to speak highly of Mighty Potter for the Turners Novices’ Chase, while he also is firmly in the Honeysuckle camp for the Mares; Hurdle. Moving on to the Baltimore Novices’ Hurdle, Codd respects Hermes Allen but he is confident that Good Land can win the race for trainer and owner Barry Connell. In the Gold Cup, Codd really likes Stattler who stays all day and will be hitting the line hard late on.
