‘He did the double last year’ – Four course specialists to follow on Friday

Statistics never provide any guarantees but it’s always worth taking note, as they can definitely provide some strong pointers. Course form is a key one as some horses take a liking to particular tracks and are therefore inclined to perform better there.

We have you covered on Friday so here are four runners from Sandown and Southwell with proven records at their respective courses. Why not check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.00 Sandown

Farceur Du Large is unbeaten in two starts at Sandown and he completed the Military and Artillery cup double over course and distance last term. Clearly suited by this sort of test, Will Kellard is back on board and Jamie Snowden’s 10-year-old is entitled to be in the mix once again.

4.45 Southwell

Liberated Lad is a three-time course winner and has only had six starts at Southwell. The most recent of those successes came over this trip back in September and he’s now on a 3lb higher mark. Victorious at Newcastle last time out, he could be worth siding with once again and the yard is in good form.

6.15 Southwell

Turbo Command has been a little out of form in his last couple of starts but the handicapper has responded accordingly. Three of his five career wins have come here at Southwell however and he was last victorious off this very mark at Newcastle in March. A return to winning ways shouldn’t be ruled out.

6.45 Southwell

Ormolulu has won four times on the all-weather and every single victory has come at Southwell. Gemma Tutty’s mare won easily over course and distance on her penultimate start and will appreciate the return to 6f, having struggled over a furlong further last time out.
